In 2005 Harriet and Paula were unable to find the high quality nursery provision they wanted for their own children in the local area. They opened a small sessional preschool in a classroom on the site of a local primary school with their own children as the first pupils. The new approach proved popular and since then the Exwick Ark has grown dramatically. The family of settings now includes  4 nurseries and an out of school club in Exeter and The South Hams. 

A key feature of the settings is the underlying Christian principles on which they are built. This is demonstrated practically in the care and support given to children and families. We encourage characteristics such as love, kindness, patience, perseverance, joy and gentleness are encouraged.
